There is no difference between men and women among them. The survey reports conducted by the Union Health Ministry regarding women's drinking were released the other day. The survey was about women from which state in India drink the most. The figures of men who drink alcohol have also been released along with this.
The state with the highest number of women consuming alcohol is Assam. 1.2 percent of women between the ages of 15 and 49 in the country drink alcohol. This is the national average. In Assam, 16.5 percent of women between the ages of 15 and 49 drink alcohol. The second state with the highest number of women consuming alcohol is Meghalaya. Here, 8.7 percent of women between the ages of 15 and 49 drink alcohol. Arunachal Pradesh is in third place in the survey.
There has been a decrease in women drinking alcohol compared to the figures in previous years. However, 3.3 percent of women between the ages of 15 and 49 in the country consume alcohol. The state with the highest number of male drinkers in the country is Arunachal Pradesh. 59 percent of men between the ages of 15 and 49 in this northeast state consume alcohol. At the same time, it is also noteworthy that the names of states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka and Kerala, which are known for their corporate companies, did not find a prominent position in the list.
